Dedicated & Qualified

Young Teacher

Our Staff Team

The quality of our trained staff is of the greatest importance to us. Our professional staff team have a range of qualifications that include the Early Childhood Care and Education Degree (QQI Levels 9, 8 and 7), Degree in Primary Education, Montessori Diplomas, Early Childhood Care and Education Major Awards (QQI Levels 5 and 6).

Everyone we employ is passionate about child development and delivers an extremely high standard of early childhood education and care using Aistear, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and Siolta, the National Quality Framework.

We seek to employ individuals to join our team who have a compassionate approach and understand the importance of following each child’s individual needs. We strive to provide continual support and training for our staff through our inset days, individual training courses, and regular appraisals.

Little People’s Academy provides placements for childcare students and apprentices. Students are not included in our staff/child ratio, but they provide invaluable assistance to our staff team.

Your Key Person

The Key Person is the main carer who builds a secure and positive relationship with the child in their care, working in partnership with you, the parent, at all times. The Key Person provides freedom of choice, which will encourage independence in your child in a safe and secure environment.

The Key Person will monitor and provide for the holistic development of their assigned children. The children’s progress is recorded by regular observations and assessments on their development. These reports are available for parents to contribute towards and read at any time. The Key Person ensures that the child’s progress and developmental needs are discussed with the parents to ensure that there is a regular exchange of knowledge and information.

We have established a buddy system whereby each child has another designated member of staff to be the child’s Key Person in the absence of their actual Key Person. This is to ensure staff work together in order to maintain consistency for the children regardless of the presence of your child’s Key Person.
