Toddler Unit

Overview

(2 years to 3 years)

Little People’s Academy recognises that during the second year, toddlers are moving around more, and are aware of themselves and their surroundings. Their desire to explore new objects and people also is increasing. This is such an exciting time for children as their minds are absorbing every piece of information that they are exposed to. Their language, social and emotional sides of their personality are apparent as they form close attachments to their careers and their friends.

Diverse Kindergarten

Curriculum

Toilet training is a particularly important milestone during this age group. Parents have peace of mind to know that our team of staff are there to work with you and support you and your child during this sensitive time of your child’s development.

Little People’s Academy offers children of this age more advanced learning experiences, preparing them for the next stage in their development. As toddlers explore the world and expand their imaginations through play, in our toddler pod, there is an emphasis on arts and crafts, puzzles and jigsaws, books, word games, role play and dress up and learning using sensory exploration. Children have regular rest and play periods with free play being promoted. Children work at their own pace and are encouraged to be comfortable with themselves.

Wooden Cars

As part of this partnership approach, we share with you your child’s daily diary which details their mealtimes, sleeping pattern, nappy changes, specified medical administration and any other additional information about your child’s day that may be helpful is shared with you. The ratio for this age group is 1 adult to 6 children but we ensure that we have extra support available for those busy times during the day.
