About Us

Learning Through Creative Play

Who We Are:

Founded in 1996, we have an excellent reputation for delivering a progressive and inspirational method of care and early education for children, aged between 12 months to 5 years.

Little People’s Academy creche and preschool provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where our children grow and learn through creative play. Our multi-age playrooms foster independence, whilst our broad curriculum of activities encourages responsibility and respect. All of our dedicated professional team of staff help to guide each child at their own pace.

Mission Statement

“To provide an inclusive childcare program which promotes optimal development for each child, supports families, upholds best practices in the field of Early Care and Education, and provides a community model for quality.

To take advantage of the teachable moments that happen every day and to inspire a lifelong commitment to learning”.

Exploring independently is an important part of learning. Our aim is to provide quality early years care and education for children through creative, hands-on, play and learning experiences in a stimulating, safe and relaxed environment.

Children are assigned a key person who encourages independence by facilitating their natural exploration and supporting their development.

We want children to feel excited about learning and aim to give them a positive first experience of life at creche and preschool through inspirational opportunities.

We provide a diverse curriculum based on the principles of both Aistear, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and Siolta, the National Quality Framework.

“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”  Dr Maria Montessori

We believe that every child has the right to experience and develop alongside their peers regardless of their individual needs. We treat every child as an individual and are committed to working with parents along with other professionals to accomplish this, using inclusive practices. We encourage children to learn about different cultures in great detail by celebrating global weeks and festivals, tasting new foods, and sharing different traditions from around the world.

Positive relationships between parents and staff are encouraged at all times to ensure we maintain a positive co-operative environment for the best interests of the children.

Little People’s Academy promotes a healthy lifestyle by organising outdoor activities in our garden and within the local community, and by providing freshly prepared food within our creche facility.
